We are extremely proud to announce the appointment of attorneys Laurence Demesmaeker, Margot De Gryse, Elke De Cock and Cato Van der Wee as Counsel effective September 1, 2025.
This new step is in line with our vision to nurture talent from within in order to further expand our office organization based on expertise and client focus.
Laurence Demesmaeker started her career at Lawtree in 2017 and has been working in the construction and real estate department since then. Laurence has built a stellar reputation as an experienced litigator, and clients praise her for her responsiveness, thorough professional knowledge and pragmatic advice, among other things.
Margot De Gryse joined Lawtree in 2018 and worked her way up to become an indispensable link within the corporate and commercial law departments. Margot has deep expertise in conducting complex legal proceedings for corporations, shareholders and directors, coupling extensive legal knowledge with strategic litigation insight both inside and outside the courts.
Elke De Cock joined Lawtree in 2019 within the Department of Construction and Real Estate. Elke distinguishes herself because of her in-depth expertise and distinct organizational skills on the basis of which she assists clients, among other things, in negotiating and concluding complex real estate contracts and real estate transactions.
Cato Van der Wee also joined Lawtree in 2019 and has since been active in the corporate law department, with a particular focus on M&A. Cato specializes in assisting with mergers and acquisitions and has extensive experience in numerous complex transactions. She combines extensive knowledge of M&A processes with strong negotiation skills and entrepreneurial vision.
The promotion to Counsel represents a clear recognition of the added value that our colleagues add to the various departments and the office in general on a daily basis on the basis of their seasoned expertise.
